About us
Sandbach Striders was born back in 2003. Since the early days, membership has grown with a firm ethos of the club being not just about running but social activities as well. The club is affiliated to UK AAA and has its own qualified coaches. Many other special events take place on various nights too.
The club meets on Wednesdays at 18:30 and Sundays at 09:00 at Elworth Cricket Club.
Whilst many members compete in races from 5k to Marathons, the emphasis remains purely on keeping people motivated and having fun. Why not scan through our race reports to see what we’ve been up to? Having read them, you’re sure to see why Sandbach Striders has developed the motto of being
"No Ordinary Running Club!"

Records fall at Predictathon 2013!
Records at both ends of the field fell at this years Predictathon!
The previous club record for the best prediction of 3 seconds, held by Paul Barnett in 2012 fell in spectacular fashion. As did the record for the worst prediction (previously 213 seconds by Alan Campbell.)

Race Report: Potter's 'Arf 09/06/2013
The 'Potters Arf' wasn't on my list of runs to do, not sure why, but it just didn't appeal. However
when one or two other Striders said they were doing it, then I thought "why not?", besides it's on
our doorstep and I'm glad I did!Tuesday, 11 June 2013
Race Report: Bosley Fell Race 08/06/2013
Laying demons to rest!
After last year’s minor disaster of falling head long into a
bog and tearing ligaments, I definitely had unfinished business with this run.
So I took emergency back- up with me this year in the shape of a very good
friend who insisted that she would be fine with a cuppa, a piece of WI cake and
a sit in the sunshine, whilst I and a lovely large field of fellow runners took
to the hills.
Upcoming Event: Predictathon 12/06/2013
It's Predictathon time!
It's your annual opportunity to run the Super 6 route and predict what time you will run it in. How well do you know your pace? Or are you a lucky guesser?

The Cheshire Triathlon, has apparently been going for many years, and for me back at New Year, probably after a bottle of wine, I thought it would be good to try something different, and why not try a triathlon which I duly entered.

Race Report: Abersoch 10k 01/06/2013
The popular village of 'Abersoch' is located at the end of the Llyn Peninsular, North Wales.
I've done this race 3 times in the past and always enjoyed it, mainly for its stunning scenery, but it
also has an added attraction in that the last mile is run along the length of the beach.
